Phoenix Metals ontwikkelt hydrometallurgische technologieën voor lage temperaturen om vanadium en andere waardevolle materialen terug te winnen uit industrieel afval zoals staalslakken, raffinaderijresiduen en maritiem afval. Vanadiumelektrolyt is een cruciale grondstof voor vanadium-flowbatterijen. Deze batterijen worden gezien als een veelbelovende oplossing voor grootschalige energieopslag bij netbeheerders, industrieclusters, datacenters en duurzame energieprojecten. Hiermee stimuleert Phoenix Metals de energietransitie stimuleren en wil tegelijkertijd de milieuschade beperken.
Dankzij hun innovatieve en duurzame processen maken zij het gebruik van schadelijke chemicaliën overbodig, minimaliseren zij de CO2-uitstoot en zorgen ervoor dat kritieke metalen onderdeel blijven van een circulaire economie.
