For whom is this programme of interest?
The programme supports startups developing or applying AI, data, and robotics technologies to measure, predict, and improve formulations in areas such as polymers, coatings, emulsions, fragrances, and adhesives. This includes solutions that automate experiments using robotics, or make properties like stability, scent, solubility, or functionality predictable via AI.
The scheme is aimed at startups as defined under AGVV Article 22 which:
- Must be a maximum of five years old. A company may not be older than five years at the time of award. We calculate a maximum of 13 weeks for the period from a complete application received to a decision.
- Not to be larger than a small enterprise (< 50 employees, and < €10 million turnover or balance sheet total).

The Big Chemistry Startup Programme is funded by the National Growth Fund and implemented by Oost NL on behalf of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science (OCW).Official mandate, subsidy scheme, in close collaboration with Big Chemistry and partners such as the regional development agencies BOM, Horizon Flevoland, Impuls Zeeland, InnovationQuarter, LIOF, NOM, ROM InWest and ROM Utrecht Region.
