Before you start, check these five tips and points:
- What social impact will your innovation have? An important question, because the MIT is specifically intended to finance projects that contribute to the missions of the top sectors policy. Think of longer healthy living, the energy transition, climate change, the circular economy, innovative digitalization, sustainable agriculture and safety. Are you unsure whether your project makes a contribution? More information about the MIT subsidy, the assessment framework and the missions can soon be found on the provincial subsidy desk. Keep a close eye on this in the coming period.
- Be aware that the MIT feasibility is intended for feasibility studies, for example a literature study, market research or small initial technological tests. The aim should be to get an idea of the opportunities and risks, additional costs, regulations and other points of interest that apply to your innovation.
- What new technology are you going to develop? The MIT is for SMEs and start-ups that want to use a new technology. There must be technological risks. Are there already other companies in the Netherlands that do the same or can you buy the technology from a supplier? Then unfortunately it is not a new technology with development risks and you are not eligible for the subsidy.
