Sustainable data centres worldwide: the impact of Asperitas

Data centres are big consumers. Energy, water, space - everything goes through them at a rapid pace. Asperitas saw that things could be done differently and developed Immersion Cooling technology. Liquid cooling that makes servers much more sustainable. The result: a data centre that consumes less energy, wastes no water and even reuses heat. A smart move for companies that need high-performance computing but want to stay green.

This is how innovative technology works

Asperitas’ technology immerses servers in a specially developed pod filled with dielectric fluid, cooling them extremely efficiently. The result? Up to 40% better performance, 45% lower costs and a data centre that takes up 80% less space. By returning hot water from the heat exchanger, 97% of the energy is reused.

“At Asperitas, we convert energy into computing power as effectively as possible. Our mission is to help customers grow their digital infrastructure sustainably with high-performance thermal solutions, including immersion cooling. Our ambition is to build the intelligent thermal layer for the next-generation compute stack - from core to edge - with scalable products, systems and modular integrations."
Rutger de Haij
CEO Asperitas

Cloud providers, financial institutions and universities in particular use this technology because they need intensive computing power for which traditional cooling methods are no longer sufficient. Asperitas aims to become the global standard for sustainable data centre solutions. Thanks to investors such as PDENH and Shell Ventures, they aim to realise their ambitions.
