From an early stage – often when you're investigating product-market fit – ROM InWest helps you focus your time and money on what's needed to become investable and grow healthily. We do this using the GRITD method: a practical standard that provides guidance in developing into a well-functioning business.
The power of GRITD
For example, does the solution devised really solve problems? Are customers willing to buy again? Are the entrepreneurs well positioned for scale-up?
Indeed, often the entrepreneur is so convinced of his technological solution that the reality of the market, timing, competition-let alone the consumer-is not sufficiently considered.
For each development phase, we also take a look at whether the team composition is best for the phase.
For entrepreneurs, that advisory view means more control over their development. And for shareholders, it offers more certainty that their investment is being used as carefully as possible, and will soon yield a return.
the focus is on:
Product Market Fit
The product ‘pulls’: customers stay, make repeat purchases and recommend the service or product.
We then often test recurring or persistent customers, usage and cost structure, so that it becomes clear whether there is real market acceptance.
Repeatable sales
Sales methods become standardised. Sales processes are no longer solely dependent on the founder, but transferable and scalable.
We will help you structure sales processes in this phase by teaching you how to set up marketing strategies, CRM, and funnel analyses that can be handed over to a team.
Business model fit
The profit and cost allocation per product or service provided and the revenue model work in practice. There is evidence of profitable scaling up.
This means calculating with margins, customer value and costs, and looking at whether scaling up is possible. We act as a financial sounding board and help determine if and when external financing is feasible.
