Triple Solar has developed a pioneering PVT heat pump system that generates electricity and heat at the same time. The PVT panels function like traditional solar panels, but also extract heat from the outside air and sun. This heat is then used as an energy source for the proprietary Triple Solar heat pump. This allows homes to be fully heated without the use of fossil fuels, contributing to a cleaner and more sustainable future.
The deployment of the innovative PVT heat pump system is having a major positive impact both locally and nationally:
● CO2 reduction: Thanks to heat pumps, a significant amount of CO2 emissions are avoided every year, as homes are no longer dependent on natural gas.
● Optimal utilisation of solar energy: By combining electricity generation with heat extraction, renewable energy is efficiently utilised.
● Stimulus for the regional economy: The production and installation of the systems create jobs in the region and encourage innovative collaborations.
Triple Solar is working closely with installers, housing associations and knowledge institutions to accelerate the adoption of PVT heat pumps in the Netherlands. The financial support from the PDENH fund in 2018 was an important catalyst in this regard. This support enabled the company to accelerate the development and production of the innovative PVT heat pump, which has led to an increased supply of sustainable heating systems in the market.
