The healthcare sector has been struggling with acute staff shortages for several years; a problem that is only getting worse, because a quarter of them will retire in the next five years while the number of elderly people continues to grow. Healthcare workers are increasingly burdened by their demanding work. During a night shift, they often have to go through all the rooms up to three times to check whether patients are okay after a report. Not infrequently, the report turns out to be incorrect afterwards.

With the technology of Kepler Vision Technologies, Kepler brings more efficiency to elderly care. With one smart sensor, the Kepler Night Nurse software detects when patients fall, sit on the edge of their bed, stay in the bathroom too long or lie on one side for a long time. This allows care staff to take appropriate action faster and more selectively, patients are woken up less unnecessarily and more valuable time remains for real care.

“The investment from ROM InWest will allow us to scale up production of the Kepler Night Nurse to support more healthcare workers in their work. Kepler Vision Technologies’ mission is to solve staff shortages in nursing homes and hospitals by delivering the world’s most reliable Artificial Intelligence solutions that ensure patient well-being. My goal is for our software to be accessible around the world, and great support like this will help us achieve that goal.”
