The global demand for renewable energy solutions is growing explosively, including in the maritime sector. EST-Floattech plays a leading role in this with innovative, safe and reliable battery and energy storage systems. With its systems, EST-Floattech is making an important contribution to the energy transition and the transition from fossil fuels to sustainable alternatives.

This is how EST-Floattech works

EST-Floattech has developed a modular energy system based on Lithium NMC technology. This system will be deployed on battery-hybrid ferries, such as ‘the ferry’ in Amsterdam, and inland vessels such as the Sendo Liner - the first vessel to operate completely emission-free for a period of time.
The modular design allows customers to easily adapt the system to their energy needs. The systems are certified to the highest maritime safety standards, making them not only durable, but also reliable and safe.

The impact

EST-Floattech's innovative battery and energy storage systems have a significant impact on making the maritime and industrial sectors more sustainable:
● CO2 reduction: Ships and machinery with EST-Floattech systems emit thousands of tonnes less CO2 every year.
● Sustainable transport: contribution to emission-free mobility on water and in the construction sector.

Collaboration and support

EST-Floattech's growth and impact have been made possible partly through collaborations with shipyards, technology companies and research institutions. Financial support from the PDENH fund was essential for this. This enabled the company to scale up faster and serve new markets.
