More sustainable textile industry and a more inclusive society

The Amsterdam-based United Repair Centre aims to encourage clothing brands and consumers to repair clothing as an attractive alternative to buying new, in order to extend the life of the garment and reduce CO2-footprint. In addition, the United Repair Centre has the ambition to guide as many people as possible with a distance to the labor market to work.

Repair instead of throwing away

Brands that join the United Repair Centre, including pioneers like Patagonia, implement the repair service in their business model. United Repair Centre also wants to increase consumer awareness under the motto 'repair is the new cool'.

“We believe in the power of circularity and inclusion. Combine these two and we can create a world where everyone and everything can flourish and live together in unity. And let’s not forget: repairing is the new cool.”

Jobs for people with a distance to the labor market

United Repair Centre will create more than 100 jobs for people with a distance to the labour market in the coming years. Among other things, through the training programme 'United Repair Centre Academy' that was set up in collaboration with House of Denim to train people with a distance to the labour market to become certified clothing makers.
