Nieboer succeeds interim director Vincent van Woerkom. “The challenges of our time require a nationwide ROM network. The decisiveness with which the ROM was established will also be an important value in how we will fulfil our role as a partner in the ecosystem in the region. By combining project development, investments and partnerships, we will support innovative SMEs, develop new revenue models and contribute to system changes. The future of our region depends on what we do together today,” says Nieboer.
With Nieboer as director, ROM InWest brings on board a manager with international experience, who has an extensive track record when it comes to successfully setting up new companiesIn addition to her work as General Manager of FMO-NedLinx BV, Nieboer was involved in the establishment of Invest International, a new investment institution alongside Invest-NL that was launched on 1 October. Invest International will, in addition to the market, help Dutch businesses develop and finance projects abroad via a single point of contact. Nieboer previously worked worldwide for ABN Amro and Fortis, among others.
Supervisory Board
In addition to the announcement of Janet Nieboer as director of ROM InWest, the chair and members of the supervisory board (RvC) have also been announced. The RvC will consist of Josephine de Zwaan (chair), Désirée van Boxtel and Kuldip Singh. The three members rely on extensive experience in the public sector, investment companies and the technology industry. With this diversity of backgrounds, ROM will have a RvC that has both financial and substantive experience in the field of innovation, circularity and energy transition.
Launch of ROM InWest
In the presence of Minister Stef Blok (EZK), regional administrators and entrepreneurs, ROM InWest was launched Festively launched on October 8. The authorities in North Holland, together with the Ministry of Economic Affairs & Climate, complete the chain of ROMs in the Netherlands. From 1 January 2022, ROM InWest will be housed in Cupola XS - the former domed prison in Haarlem.
