The financing agreement for UbiOps was secured with the support of existing shareholders Global Founders Capital and Royal BAM Group.
UbiOps is a platform to support software applications running on artificial intelligence (AI), such as computer vision and natural language processing. Startups, scale-ups and SMEs that use AI software but do not have the budget for their own cloud specialists can still continue to develop, use and improve that software thanks to UbiOps.
Social value of UbiOps
“Many of our customers are active in the medical sector, education, critical infrastructure and sustainability. By scaling up and accelerating their innovations with our platform, we contribute indirectly to societal issues such as more adequate treatment of cancer patients and energy savings in public heating networks – and thus also to major transitions such as the energy transition.”
Growing in Europe
The additional funding gives UbiOps the opportunity to grow even faster. “Our turnover already increased significantly in 2022,” says Yannick Maltha, CEO and co-founder of UbiOps. “The use of our platform is growing enormously, as is the range of services we offer. As a result, we can now serve more customers. We are not only focusing on the Netherlands but on the whole of Europe, because there is also a lot of interest in IT support in the field of AI abroad.”
Network is also valuable
“ROM InWest not only helps us financially, but is also a strong partner with a large and relevant network,” Maltha continues about the regional development company for North Holland. “The Amsterdam region is important to us, because that is where the AI sector is strongly represented and where a large part of our current and potential customers are.” Earlier this year, UbiOps opened a new branch at the Science Park of the University of Amsterdam. This means that the company now has three locations, including the head office in The Hague and a branch in the United States.
