Keplers Night Nurse uses smart sensors to accurately detect when patients fall, sit on the edge of their bed, stay in the bathroom too long or lie on one side for a long time. This allows care staff to take appropriate action more quickly and selectively.
Fewer false positives
With the smart sensor technology of Night Nurse, Kepler brings more efficiency to the demanding work of caregivers in elderly care. During a night shift, they often have to go through all the rooms up to three times to check whether patients are okay after a report. In relatively many cases, the report turns out to be incorrect, causing many patients to wake up unnecessarily and valuable time for real care is lost. The Kepler Night Nurse reduces the number of incorrect reports by as much as 99%.
Critical staff shortages in healthcare
“The healthcare sector has been struggling with acute staff shortages for years,” says Harro Stokman, CEO of Kepler. “That problem is only getting worse due to double aging: a quarter of the current staff will retire in the next five years and in the meantime the number of elderly people continues to grow. Elderly care therefore has more interest in efficiency than ever. Thanks to the investment by ROM InWest, we can start producing Night Nurse on a larger scale to help more healthcare staff in their work. My goal is for our software to watch over a million patients by 2030.”
Help for patients and healthcare professionals
ROM InWest is proud to be able to contribute to the care solution of Kepler. “The Kepler Night Nurse offers a smart and more reliable alternative to existing home automation such as chains with panic buttons and bed mats,” says Janet Nieboer, CEO of ROM InWest. In this way, Kepler contributes to good care for the patient and the company makes the work of care professionals more efficient. Smart care solutions such as are absolutely necessary to keep our care at a high level and affordable.”
