Digital technology has become an indispensable part of the healthcare and welfare domain. The role of technology is expected to only increase. On the one hand, this offers many opportunities and possibilities to increase access to care. On the other hand, for a significant group of people, the use of technology is difficult and it actually reduces access to care. How can we ensure that everyone can participate in the digital society and receive the right, appropriate care and support?
ROM InWest is one of the organizers of Zorg2025. Senior business developer Linze Rijswijk of ROM InWest: “Digitization of healthcare is necessary for efficiency and better care, but also to be able to do with fewer employees. There are many startups in healthcare that can contribute to this. This event offers these types of startups the perfect opportunity to get in touch with parties in healthcare.”
Program
We have invited the following speakers for this:
- Christine Dedding, associate professor of Participation & Co-creation at the Metamedica department of Amsterdam UMC. Christine takes us through her research 'Doing eHealth Right', which focuses on notfocuses on the (digital) skills of patients and healthcare providers, but also on innovative solutions at system level.
- Tess den Uyl:Research consultant VicarVision. VicarVision has developed emotion analysis software that can detect facial expressions. Tess explains how VicarVision has further developed this software for the healthcare and welfare sector. For example, by using this software in a care robot for the elderly to promote healthy aging. The care robot uses the software to signal the non-verbal signals of the elderly, allowing personalized behavioral changes to be proposed.
- Steven from the Pond, general practitioner working at the Department of General Practice at the OLVG hospital in Amsterdam and at the Amsterdam Health & Technology Institute. Steven discusses the HealthEmove project to give undocumented people their own (medical) data in a personal data safe. At the moment it is a major problem that these people who stay at various locations in a short period of time within the Netherlands and Europe have no medical continuity and/or history. This initiative was started together with OLVG, Red Cross, Doctors of the World, Patients Know Best (PGO), Kruispost and support from the municipality of Amsterdam.
The event will take place on October 10th and is free. Registration is required. Register here.
