“Being able to present suitable employment conditions attractively has been a wish of employers for a long time, but its importance has grown. Younger generations expect more in this respect,” says Florian about the idea behind his platform. “Certainly Gen Z – the youngest generation on the labour market – is used to flexibility, growth and freedom of choice, also with regard to working hours and employment conditions. For them, work is more than a source of income. They also want to identify with the mission of a company and avoid burnout at all costs. If they can choose their own secondary employment conditions, you distinguish yourself as an employer.”
For all generations
Florian came up with a digital platform with an app that provides insight into these employment conditions, plus the option to select them yourself. “So no more difficult HR discussions and paperwork, but a digital solution that young generations are used to. The design of the app is in line with what they see as digital natives expect from a modern employer. And our solution is also very welcome for older generations, because a clear overview of all employment conditions is pleasant for everyone.”
Rebranding due to growth
In the first months of 2024, Florian and his company went through a major rebranding process. “As we grew, we increasingly noticed that our name (then YourCampus) no longer matched the phase of the company. That evoked the wrong association, it had to be more neutral and shorter. Alleo stands for All earnings, referring to the development of the platform. Our solution is becoming increasingly broader: it is increasingly a fully digital payslip with things like vacation days, mobility arrangements and pension balance. The tone of voice and look & feel of our platform have also become more neutral and therefore more inclusive. All with a view to the increasingly larger companies with diverse employee bases that we serve.”
Knowledge sessions and strategic advice
Already in his first years as an entrepreneur, Florian had a great need for knowledge. “At the time, I gathered fellow entrepreneurs around me for this, but now ROM InWest also helps in this area. They regularly organize knowledge sessions on important but often also difficult entrepreneurial issues, such as labor law. The entrepreneurs you meet there all have similar issues and challenges in their company. It is very nice to brainstorm about this together and exchange lessons learned. In conversations with fund and investment managers from ROM InWest, I regularly receive strategic advice. This allows me to make better-founded and smarter choices for sustainable growth in the longer term.”
Financing
Also in terms of financing ROM InWest Alleo a helping hand. Florian: “From the further development of our product and platform to active sales and marketing for more visibility in the Netherlands and expansion to Germany: it all depends on pre-investments. Only with a well-functioning product and brand awareness will we grow and be able to finance ourselves in the long term. It is incredibly nice to have a partner like ROM InWest who sees our growth potential and supports our social mission – and can therefore invest in us with confidence and patience.”
Striving for impact
When asked about his long-term goals, Florian shows his drive for impact. “The difference our solution makes is a matter of the scale we achieve. In five years, I want to use Alleo to give more than 1 million people worldwide digital insight into a good and flexible employment conditions package. With this, I want to take not only our company itself, but also all our employees and the customers we serve to the next level. But everything in steps: every working day, I only leave the door satisfied when I see that not only the entire team, but also all the customers we serve are satisfied.”
