Acceleration program Future Construction: for startups that want to grow continuously

Future-proof building ATB
News

Smart innovations in construction and infrastructure are vital to keep the Netherlands liveable. But doing business in this sector often brings with it considerable challenges – especially for young companies and startups. Are you active in biobased and/or circular construction or data-driven management and maintenance of infrastructure with your startup or scale-up? And are you looking for the right growth path for your company? Then this program is ideal for you.

The sustainable living environment that the government is pursuing and to which everyone is increasingly demanding, is largely dependent on sustainable construction and infrastructure. In order to help innovative entrepreneurs and start-ups in that sector, the national program Future-proof Living Environment, together with various Dutch ROMs – including ROM InWest – has set up the Acceleration Program Future-proof Construction (ATB).

Personal guidance from experts

In the ATB, as a company, you will receive personal guidance for approximately ten weeks from an experienced expert who works at NOM, ROM InWest, Horizon and ROM Utrecht. He or she will make you think even more about the added value of your idea for the market, using critical questions and assignments. Group sessions with other entrepreneurs are also part of the ATB. At the end of the program, you should have a crystal-clear picture of your precise target group and whether your innovation is a solution for that.

The acceleration program is suitable for you if:
  • you have an innovative product with growth potential, but you do not yet know how to effectively enter the market;
  • your sales process is stagnating;
  • you doubt whether your solution is the best solution for the customer's problem;
  • you are looking for clarity about your ideal customer;
  • you would like to involve potential customers in the further development of a prototype of your technological innovation

Conditions for participation are:
  • you have the ambition to build a scalable company that contributes to sustainability transitions within the construction and infrastructure sector;
  • you have developed a prototype, preferably validated in a relevant environment;
  • you can demonstrate that you have contact with multiple (potential) customers;
  • you and a co-founder or colleague can free up an average of at least 0.5 FTE for approximately ten weeks.

The growth program for startups consists of 5 components:
  1. A thorough company scan conducted by the expert team to identify your key development goals.
  2. A custom made development plan including the steps you can take to achieve your business goals.
  3. Six master classes on topics related to the growth of young innovative companies. Think of finding your 'early evangelist', the use of customer interviews and pilots to identify/validate your problem solution, the meaning of customer commitment and the importance of finding the right chain partners.
  4. Personal guidance in the form of biweekly progress meetings with a venture partner/supervisor, aimed at achieving set goals.
  5. Access to experts to address specific challenges in your organization that hinder the growth of your business.

Jorn Egg from Liempt accompanies on behalf of ROM InWest companies during the ATB. Kcountry-orientedheath is according to him the central theme of the ATB.  We also present our products in construction and infrastructureMany entrepreneurs see their technological innovation as the solution, without there being a validated underlying problem”, he explains. They mainly base themselves on fans and numbers that prove them right'prove'. In this program we force entrepreneurs to a to take a step back and examine whether their innovation really is a solution to a market demand – in order to arrive at a product that can also be directly integrated into practice. Eand proactive attitude is important to get the most out of this program. The mirror that We to hold up to you can be confronting, but will certainly help you achieve solid growth in the long term.”
