Together we are strong, as is once again evident from what ROM InWest achieved last year with the other 8 regional development companies. Together they invested no less than €220 million in promising innovation projects in 2022.
In 2022, we were involved in more than half of all early-stage investments in the Netherlands with the nine ROMs. This makes us, as ROMs, by far the most active investors. We worked with more than 1,000 innovative SMEs on 810 innovation projects with a size of €220 million. The ROMs also supported 183 international companies with new establishments and expansions. The companies attracted expect to create 6,500 jobs and invest €3.1 billion in the Netherlands over the next three years.
Minister Mickey Andriaansens
This week we, together with the other eight ROMs, will present the results to Minister Mickey Andriaansens of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate. Wendy de Jong, chairman ROM-Nederland: “The nine ROMs are deeply embedded in the regions and closely connected to innovative SMEs and collaborating partners. The ROMs are an essential national piece of the puzzle in the system of national parties (Invest-NL, Techleap, RVO and knowledge institutions), which stimulate innovation-oriented transitions. The fact that this can be used even better for the future earning capacity of the Netherlands is stated in the positive evaluation of the Ministry of Economic Affairs & Climate.”
