DOPS Recycling Technologies, developer of innovative waste management solutions, has a <\/span>seed<\/span>-investment of \u20ac5 million raised from various investors. With this financing, the company can launch its Direct Carbon <\/span>Immobilization<\/span> (DCI<\/span>\u2122)-<\/span>further develop and scale up technology.\u00a0<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Every year, around eight million tons of waste is incinerated in the Netherlands. In doing so, just as much CO\u2082 is emitted and valuable materials are lost. Can it be done differently? Absolutely! DOPS Recycling Technologies offers a revolutionary solution to this problem with DCI\u2122.<\/span> The waste streams are converted into biofuels using DCI\u2122 technology. These are essential for making the energy-intensive industry more sustainable and for decarbonising the transport sector<\/span>.<\/span> <\/span>And d<\/span><\/span>because of the <\/span>use of refractory materials and efficient heat recovery<\/span> is<\/span> this<\/span> system is economically viable even at low volumes.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

How does DOPS DCI\u2122 technology work?<\/span><\/span><\/h5>\n

With d<\/span>and <\/span>DCI\u2122-<\/span>technology <\/span>can <\/span>more than ninety percent of the waste that would otherwise be incinerated or dumped, to<\/span>to be placed in<\/span> new raw materials<\/span>For example, think of<\/span> syngas<\/span> and<\/span> carbon<\/span>.<\/span> For this purpose, complex waste flows are processed in an oxygen-free reactor<\/span> heated <\/span>up to 1,000 degrees Celsius. At that temperature, hydrocarbons are broken down into their basic elements; carbon monoxide and hydrogen.<\/span> In this way, DOPS converts waste into valuable raw materials without significant CO\u2082 emissions.<\/span> In addition, the technology can process various waste streams, which is very much needed in a circular economy.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u20ac5 million for DOPS platform technology<\/span><\/b>
\n The SEED investment round was made possible by a successful collaboration between Energy Transition Fund Rotterdam of Innovation Quarter, ROM InWest, Innovation Fund North Holland, Init Power, CarbonFix and Alphatron. With the investment, DOPS will build a modular unit (M-DCI) to test the total system. This should lead to a final investment decision for the first factory at customers. <\/span>
