Food supplements, cosmetics and animal feed (aquaculture) are currently the most important applications of microalgae.<\/p>\n<h5>Lgem mainly for food<\/h5>\n<p>The fast-growing global market for microalgae-based products that we at Lgem focus on is estimated to reach \u20ac56 billion in 2027,\u201d says Bas Swildens, CEO at Lgem. \u201cThis growth is mainly in the food industry: microalgae are widely used in the production of functional foods and food supplements because of their rich content of essential nutrients and antioxidants.
